Mr. Cuke's Screen Test is an early animation test featuring VeggieTales character Larry the Cucumber that was created in 1,991, 2 years before the first VeggieTales episode was released.
Nothing of the episode has been seen or heard of ever since.
The animation test was created by VeggieTales co-creator Phil Vischer. According to Visher, on the commentary on "Where's God When I'm S-Scared?!", the test was the very first piece of VeggieTales animation featuring the first VeggieTales character ever made; Larry the Cucumber. The short is said to be 12 seconds long and just has Larry the Cucumber (or Mr. Cuke as he was known back then) looking off center at the camera and smiles and then hops around on the kitchen countertop. This would soon be the center stage for Bob and Larry during each VeggieTales episode. Also, this short inspired Phil Vischer and Mike Nawrocki to create VeggieTales in 1,993.
Wow, I thought it was a 20-minute short film, as they said on Wikipedia, but I saw this video and it's only 12 seconds long, so I went on and changed it to saying that the short was only 12 seconds long. Anyway, like the other VeggieTales Screen Test, "Take 38" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R9OV0INJlT8), it was extremely rare and I couldn't find it anywhere online. Good thing I found it on the Early Animation Tests bonus feature inside my 2,004 VHS copy of VeggieTales Classics: "Where's God When I'm S-scared?" This is the video of Mr. Cuke's Screen Test in the best quality you will find.
Enjoy this rare treat in VeggieTales animation! Please no bad comments, because that would not be a very wise decision.
